UNTITLED #26 BY MELLY HERRERA

I've forgotten what cold rain feels like against my skin
To dance around the puddles as my laughter fills the air
All my reserve thrown into the downpour
As I remember what it feels like to be alive once again

Now and then

I've forgotten what it's like to feel the cold wind against my skin
Thrashing roughly amongst me with my hair on my face
To walk so proudly against it with chin held up high
As I remember what it feels like to be alive once again

Now and then

I've forgotten how the ocean feels wrapped around my skin
How my body freely learns how to flow with it, dance against it and become it
As I remember what it feels like to be alive once again

Now and then
